It must be difficult to forcefully continue writing a novel whose plot collapses midway, right?

Yes, it's difficult.

It's like falling in love in college. During their senior year, both men and women knew that they would go their separate ways after graduation, and the short-term love would end because of this, but they still persisted until they broke up before leaving school in their senior year.

Tired long-distance running will always come to an end, and encouragement and blessings along the way are indispensable. Without the support of readers who are following me, it would be difficult for me to persist until now, let alone bring an imperfect end to this book.

Before I formally review this book, I have to apologize.

Due to the tight schedule in real life, not enough writing time, and my recent physical discomfort, I had to delete a lot of battle plots and all the content that could save subscription points, so that the ending of the book The work seemed rushed.

I'm really sorry.

The story of Xia Zuo and An Junya is a story that has been lingering in my mind for many years. The unfinished novel written by another author of mine also wanted to tell such a story.

Now that I have written this story from beginning to end and arranged an imaginative future for Xia Zuo and An Junya, I feel light all over, and a burden that has been in my heart for many years has finally been lifted.

There are many unsatisfactory things about this book. Whenever I start coding, I will go through these problems in my mind, and then try to type with regret.

Now let's count the shortcomings of this book.

First, there are too many digitized contents and they are too complex, which affects readers’ reading experience.

In the early stage, especially the free chapters, there was too much data stacking and the layout format was not eye-catching, which caused a lot of criticism from readers who were following the book. Although it is true that many readers like the data content, it is undeniable that many readers give up because of the complicated data. Today, in the new chapters added to the free content, many of them are looking for points of criticism around the data, indicating that this is a place that will generally cause resentment and should be changed next time.

The second shortcoming: the heroine and supporting actress do not have enough roles, and the resonance with readers is not strong enough.

This shortcoming is largely due to the central thread of the book.

The female characters who appear in this book and are relatively close to Xia Zuo are all clones of An Junya. If Xia Zuo gets entangled with any of these women, he will be sent to the crematorium. This is a test set by An Junya for Xia Zuo.

Based on this setting, when I write about the interaction between Xia Zuo and the female supporting character, I will tighten my pen and not write anything out of the ordinary, lest An Junya kill Xia Zuo...

In addition, when describing the heroine and supporting actress, I feel a little bit tight-lipped.

This is due to my own lack of creative experience, and also because my family and friends are reading this book. After the baptism of this book, my skin has thickened, and I will not be so cautious when writing characters of the opposite sex in the next book.

The third shortcoming in this book is the plot setting.

In my outline, Xia Zuo has a total of three endings, a bad ending, a pseudo ending, and a good ending. All three endings can be written, and Goldfinger will become the bridge connecting these three endings.

The first trigger is the bad ending:

Xia Zuo became the new Sodik Black Flag, joined the Sakuma Universe Empire, and stood on the opposite side of Anjunya.

After triggering this ending, Xia Zuo will go back in time under the control of Goldfinger, returning to the day before the smoke of creation was closed, and was told by Goldfinger that there are two more opportunities to go back in time. At the same time, Goldfinger will also warn him that if he joins the Sakuma Universe Empire again, he will be obliterated.

This is used to guide Xia Zuo to the pseudo-ending and good ending.

The second trigger is the pseudo-ending:

After Xia Zuo discovered that he could not defeat Vasaksat and could not join the Sakuma Universe Empire, he reopened the smoke of creation that had been closed by the August family, and used the last time of the planet to give all living beings happiness. days.

The name of this pseudo-ending is White Bread, which corresponds to the title of the chapter at the beginning of the book.

The third triggering ending is what I posted in the text - the male protagonist and the female protagonist recognize each other, and the gap in the male protagonist's heart is cleared due to the woman's initiative.

If you want to write all three endings, you have to have a lot of foreshadowing, so there are a series of main plot lines such as the Stillwater Town plot line, the scientific research plot line, etc. that make the plot of the book collapse.

Looking back at the plot settings of this book, I found the reason for the collapse of the main line:

When writing a detailed outline, you must write down all the scenes, characters, and events of each plot in chronological order, otherwise it will be difficult to find the parts of the plot arrangement that make the reading experience very stiff. The blunt content in the transfer process of the main plot is the culprit that caused the collapse of the main plot.

The fourth shortcoming, I think is very fatal:

The description of psychological activities in this book is too little, which directly results in the writing being very dry and lack of a sense of substitution. It gives readers the feeling that the protagonist and supporting characters are all tool men, and everything is done to advance the plot and introduce the settings.

Specifically:

When writing each chapter, I think too much about what should be written in this chapter from the author's perspective, what new settings should be introduced, or what foreshadowing should be left. The real approach is to write what he will do and think from the perspective of the protagonist, and use inner monologue to guide the protagonist to trigger the next content, making the plot and settings appear more natural.

Two completely different writing perspectives will lead to two hugely different reading experiences:

Writing the plot from the author's perspective is a dialogue between the author and the reader. The former is holding a spoon and forcing the setting and plot, while the latter can only passively fill in the plot content with his mouth open.

Writing the plot from the perspective of the male protagonist and supporting characters means that the characters are talking to the readers, and the sense of immersion is immediately enhanced.

This shortcoming must be corrected in the next book, not only for the sake of reader experience, but also to better improve the word count.

The fifth shortcoming of this book is equally fatal, and that is that there are very few interesting points.

This is directly related to my lack of experience in writing online novels.

As a reader, when I read online novels, I only feel that the plot is very exciting and enjoyable, but I rarely think about why it is like this and what the author did.

Therefore, when I was officially creating online novels, I found that I was a novice in creating exciting points. Apart from making the plot coherent and making the words and sentences smooth, I could hardly do anything to improve the reading effect.

After realizing that I had this problem, I dug out all the books I had read and thought were good and re-read them.

Whenever I think Oh, this is a good writing, I will add a bookmark or take a screenshot, pick out the plot, study it carefully, and find out why it makes people feel so comfortable.

The construction of Shuangdian is easy to get started but difficult to master.

My own summary is as follows:

One is popularization.

The more popular it is, the wider its readership is. With the same percentage of reading retention rate, more popular novels will receive more follow-up readings because of a larger readership.

In order to make it popular, many scientific theories and mystical theories that require a certain amount of knowledge to be understood must be excluded from the book's setting and replaced by something that the public can access.

These things that come from the public will naturally become exciting once they resonate among the reading group.

The second point is that the speed of presenting and shaping the character image must be fast.

After a supporting character appears on the stage, his character characteristics must be described within 300 words through narration, dialogue, actions or facial expressions, so as to leave a deep enough impression on the readers.

For example, in serious literature, the method of using half a book to deeply portray the image of a supporting character cannot be used in online novels. It will directly cause the pace of the novel to be slow and make readers sleepy.

A fast-paced novel has a refreshing pace.

The third point is that if the amount of writing effort is used as a measure, the cheapest way to write memes is to throw out memes in a specific field.

It is the most trouble-free and effortless to use Internet memes spread on social media or insider memes known to specific groups to quickly create cool points and cause readers to post this chapter for discussion.

The difficulty in doing this is the accumulation of memes.

Fourth, the fun part, which is slightly more expensive than throwing out jokes and requires more ink, is to create funny supporting characters.

For example, the villain who imagines what the protagonist is doing, the female supporting character who convinces herself that she likes the male protagonist, the male supporting character who helps the protagonist make a fool of himself, etc.

The fifth kind of fun point is the plot conflict.

For example, a servant girl who looked very much like her mistress killed her mistress and pretended to be the mistress to live with her male master. After discovering the truth, the male master chose to help the maid bury the body and clues. The two happily lived a happy life. Only the cat at home knows that the male master has actually been replaced by a male servant who looks exactly like him.

Plot conflicts like this require a lot of writing to foreshadow the plot and characterize the characters, and Shuangdian's presentation cycle is relatively long. Authors who are not strong enough in writing are likely to fail in writing, and readers will also choose to save a book because Shuangdian's presentation is not dense enough. Save chapters or give up.

Generally speaking, an author who can write plot conflicts is a third-rate author in online novels, an author who can write amusing supporting characters is a second-rate author, and an author who can throw out plot twists and create excitement in every chapter is a first-rate author.

The reason for this ranking is: most online novel authors have time to polish the plot and build characters, but few can actively collect memes in their spare time when coding every day.

In other words, the entry barrier for online novels is not high. If you can write fluent sentences and take the time to think about the character plot, you can improve your quality of life.

If you want to go further, it basically has nothing to do with the depth of the author's writing skills. The key is to be able to capture the psychology of the public readers.

Public readers like straightforward plots, so the central thread of online novels will be particularly clear, which is equivalent to being placed directly on the table.

Public readers like all kinds of supporting characters who show surrender or admiration to the protagonist. So when writing online novels, it is best to continuously present a variety of supporting male and female characters with distinctive personalities in the form of unit dramas to avoid excessive supporting characters. Much interference to the main line.

Popular readers say that the protagonist should not be made too comfortable, but should be put under pressure to make progress. Then the protagonist of online novels must have a clear goal in each chapter. This goal can be big or small, but it must be , instead of simply completing an alchemy experiment like salted fish, you have to add a little explosive element to the experimental process.

Popular readers say that your writing is too naive, and whether it will be good or not all depends on when the readers get their brains back. They cannot read your novels with their brains in mind. There are logical loopholes from beginning to end.

But in fact, judging from my own reading experience, many novels with high monthly ticket sales and high sales just seem to be simple texts. If you deeply analyze their world framework, character portraits, plot arrangements, detailed descriptions and writing logic, you can find that The author's skills are extraordinary.

This kind of online novel that has the appearance of a novice novel on the outside but is as rigorous as serious literature on the inside is successful. It can gain the love of both novice readers and non-novice readers.

My next book will follow the excellent quality of this book, maintain the characteristics of self-consistent logic and reasonable actions of the characters, and use a writing method that is logically tight and can always put the protagonist in conflicts, so that people who like novels or novels can Readers who like rigorous writing can read it.

At this point, having said so much, this final speech is coming to an end.

I sincerely thank all readers for reading. Each of you is a good friend I have never met.

The detailed outline of the new book is already being refined. Once all the plots are involved and designed, and each stage is arranged to be enjoyable, internal submission and manuscript preparation will begin, and it is expected to be released within two to three months.

This time I will definitely save 300,000 words and save it before publishing it, otherwise it will be too uncomfortable...
